"Because it is rare, we searched for a doctor that primarily treats this type of cancer," explained Justin's father, Jon. "We left our home in Tampa and ventured to New York City for treatment." Thanks to your ongoing support, the NCCS makes sure children like Justin get the specialized treatment they need, no matter where it is located. Since our inception, we’ve provided more than $57 million in direct financial assistance to more than 33,000 children nationwide, and we work closely with over 300 hospitals and pediatric oncology units throughout the US.

Beyond The Cure Scholarship Program

"Cancer, the big C, the disease everyone fears, showed up unexpectedly in my life, but has led to many beneficial changes within me. Cancer will always be part of me, and I would have it no other way," according to Kane Weinberg of Trenton, Illinois. Kane is one of 38 students from across the country to be awarded a 2012-2013 Beyond the Cure (BTC) scholarship. Weinberg plans to attend the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology this fall.
