The N.C.C.S. partners with Illinois Thrift in the Chicago area. A truck is sent to your home to pick up your unwanted household items (clothing, small furniture, housewares, etc). In turn, |
private companies purchase the donated goods on a bid/contract basis. Illinois Thrift added drop-sites to its program in 2009. The N.C.C.S. receives $25 for each cart of discarded items. The funds raised are used directly to help children battling cancer and their families in need.
